  • Eating Disorders

I treat anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and avoidant-restrictive eating disorders. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the individual needs of my client based on my client’s personal preferences, previous treatment experiences, and severity of symptoms. Eating disorders are best addressed via a comprehensive effort by psychotherapists, medical practitioners, dietitians, and psychiatrists; to that end, I will frequently coordinate care with other members of your treatment team to ensure you are receiving the most benefit from your treatment efforts.

  • Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety can serve us well when it provides us important feedback regarding our surroundings; however, when anxiety begins to impact functioning in an undesired manner, therapy can assist in developing more appropriate coping techniques. Together we will work to identify thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and physical symptoms associated with your worries and address them via cognitive and behavioral approaches (e.g., acknowledgment, mindfulness, relaxation, diffusion, contextualism).

  • Mood Disorders

Depression is the second most prevalent health condition in the U.S. Depression can feel debilitating and impact one’s ability to engage meaningfully with the world. In therapy, we will work to identify core beliefs and cognitive distortions in order to shift them to be more compassionate and adaptive.

  • Trauma

“The first goal of trauma recovery should and must be to improve your quality of life on a daily basis.” - Babette Rothschild

Seeking treatment to address any form of trauma can feel overwhelming and frightening. Treatment will proceed at a pace that the client dictates, with a significant focus on feelings of safety in order to mitigate the body’s stress response. We will address cognitive and emotional reactions to the traumatic event, and work to implement appropriate coping strategies.

  • Perinatal & Postnatal Care

The perinatal period can be wrought with emotions; mental health conditions can also worsen during this time of life. I work with individuals who experience infertility, worsening anxiety/depression/trauma symptoms during the perinatal period, perinatal trauma (e.g., medical complications in infant/child, medical complications in mother associated with the birthing process, miscarriage or infant loss), as well as adjustment to parenthood.

  • Chronic Health Conditions

Whether a new diagnosis of cancer or diabetes, or a chronic management of pain, I work with individuals experiencing myriad health conditions to develop skills related to self-advocacy and lifestyle self-management. We will also work to address the potential impact of emotions on your diagnosis and quality of life.
