FAQs

  • If you will be using your insurance benefits, whether in-network or out-of-network, I recommend that you contact your insurer to confirm your deductible, benefits, and financial responsibility. I am currently an in-network provider with Kaiser, Moda, and Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield.

For clients who do not have insurance or who are out-of-network, sessions range from $185-240 and I accept debit/credit card payments through the client portal. Payment is due the day of each session.

If you do not have insurance or you do have insurance but will not be using those benefits (also known as "self-pay"), you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

    • You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit. www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.

  • I ask that all paperwork be completed prior to the first appointment. We will have ample opportunity to go over details of the paperwork during our initial appointment. Our first appointment is an opportunity for me to learn about you and your current concerns, as well as for you to determine if I am the right therapist for you. We will begin by discussing important aspects of therapy, including the limits of confidentiality and office policies. The majority of the appointment will be dedicated to discussing your concerns, relevant history, and hopes for therapy. A thorough intake evaluation enables me to make initial diagnostic impressions and preliminary recommendations and options for therapy, which I will share with you at the end of the appointment. If we both decide to work together, we will conclude with any questions you might have and discuss our next steps for therapy. If we decide that you will be better served by a different therapist, I am happy to assist you in finding another therapist.

  • Please use the contact form on this website. You may also call 503-489-8864. Please allow 48 business hours for a reply.

  • Typically, treatment will occur on a weekly basis and will last for approximately 55 minutes. As you are able to implement strategies and concepts we discuss, some clients elect to reduce the frequency of their appointments. Treatment frequency will be something that is discussed on an ongoing basis and mutually agreed upon between the client and provider.

  • For some individuals, therapy can be as short as 5-10 appointments, but for many people who have struggled with their concerns for years or decades, treatment can last much longer. As with treatment frequency, treatment duration will be discussed on an ongoing basis and mutually agreed upon between the client and provider.
